What does an OnlyFans chatter do?
An OnlyFans chatter manages fan conversations on a creator's account, replying to messages in the creator's voice, building relationships with subscribers, and converting those conversations into pay-per-view sales, tips, and renewals. Chatters are the revenue engine of most OFM agencies: on established accounts, the majority of earnings come from the chat inbox rather than the subscription price.
Day to day, a chatter works a defined shift covering an account's peak fan hours. They triage the message queue, re-engage lapsed spenders, run PPV campaigns with priced content drops, and keep detailed notes so the next shift can pick up every conversation without breaking persona. Good chatters combine sales psychology with fast, natural written English and strict consistency in the creator's tone.
Most agencies hire chatters remotely and run 24/7 coverage across time zones, so a single account typically has two to four chatters rotating through shifts. That makes reliability, handover discipline, and schedule adherence as important as raw sales ability when you evaluate candidates.
What skills should you look for in a chatter?
Every one of these is screenable on OFMJobs with built-in tests and AI scoring, before you ever message a candidate.
Sales psychology & upselling
Reading buying signals, building anticipation, and pricing PPV content to maximize spend without burning out fans.
Fast, natural written English
60+ WPM with clean spelling and grammar. Fans notice broken English immediately and unsubscribe quietly.
Persona consistency
Staying perfectly in the creator's voice, backstory, and boundaries across hundreds of conversations.
Fan re-engagement
Winning back expired subscribers and re-opening conversations with lapsed spenders using targeted mass messages.
PPV pricing & sequencing
Structuring content drops and unlock ladders so average spend per fan climbs over the subscription lifetime.
Shift reliability & handovers
Showing up on time for scheduled coverage and leaving notes so the next chatter continues every thread seamlessly.
CRM & platform tooling
Working inside OnlyFans' native inbox plus agency tools for fan tagging, spend tracking, and scripts.
Compliance awareness
Knowing platform rules (no meet-ups, no off-platform payments, no prohibited content requests) and enforcing them in chat.
How much does it cost to hire a chatter?
Hourly
$3-$8 / hr
Most common for new hires. Offshore chatters (PH, LATAM, Eastern Europe) sit at the lower end; experienced native-English chatters command the top of the range.
Commission
5-10% of net sales
Pure commission attracts proven closers but makes coverage of low-traffic shifts hard to staff. Works best on high-volume accounts with reliable spend.
Hybrid
Most common$3-$6 / hr + 2-5%
The structure most agencies converge on: a base rate guarantees shift coverage while commission keeps incentives aligned with revenue.

Frequently asked questions
Expect $3-$8 per hour depending on experience and location, or a hybrid deal around $3-$6 per hour plus 2-5% commission on net sales. A full-time chatter covering 40 hours a week typically costs $500-$1,300 per month. Top closers on busy accounts can earn more through commission, which is usually a sign the account is profiting, not overspending.
The majority of agency chatters work remotely from the Philippines, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, with a smaller pool of native English speakers in the US, UK, and Australia. Time zone is usually more important than country: you want shifts aligned to your fans' peak hours, which for US-focused accounts means late-night US coverage.
Most agencies staff accounts with a mix: two to four part-time chatters rotating shifts gives you 24/7 coverage and redundancy if someone quits, while a full-time lead chatter anchors quality. Hiring a single full-time chatter per account leaves you exposed every time they sleep, get sick, or leave.
Every chatter profile on OFMJobs can be screened with built-in typing tests, written English assessments, and sales scenario tests before you ever message them. AI scoring ranks applicants against your job requirements, so the shortlist you review has already been filtered for the skills that predict performance.
Agencies posting chatter roles on OFMJobs typically see qualified applications within 24-48 hours. With assessments run up front, most teams go from posting to a paid trial shift inside a week, significantly faster than sourcing through Telegram groups or general job boards and screening manually.
Not necessarily. Experienced chatters ramp faster, but many agencies get better long-term results hiring for typing speed, written English, and sales instinct, then training the platform specifics with a structured first-week curriculum. If you have no training program yet, prioritize candidates with at least six months of agency experience.
